Valentown Museum and Icabod Homestead
Valentown Museum is a intriguing historical museum located in Victor, New York. It contains thousands of artifacts, objects and heirlooms that represent the local 19th century history of the Victor and Rochester, New York area. We believe that historic Valentown Square serves the people and enhances the quality of life in Western New York through education and historic preservation.
First Blooms Garden Tour and Sale. The Valentown Garden Club is hosting a tour of gardens from the Victor and Farmington area. Buy plants, gifts and recycled garden items from the Garden Tent. All proceeds will benefit garden projects at Historic Valentown. Tickets $10.00 Locations for tickets: Victor Chamber of Commerce, Victor Town Hall, Victor Village Hall, Hopper Hills Floral & Gifts and Lucas Greenhouses in Fairport.
Tickets will be available at Valentown the day of the tour.
Historic Valentown is now accepting requests from individuals and groups interested in offering programs or presentations at Valentown Square anytime between June 1 -Sept. 14, 2010. Stories From The Front Porch. We want to hear your story. Did you grow up in Victor, NY? Do you remember Victor before 490 came through? Tell us about the Pharmacy on Main Street or even Main Street Victor, NY before the fire. We are interested in collecting a history of the Victor that you remember.
Valentown Teen Society. For children ages 11-17 yrs. interested in history and preserving the past, community involvement and fun social activities. Programs will include museum tours, guest speakers, field trips to local historic sites, hands-on projects, research projects and fundraising events to benefit Historic Valentown Museum. Calendar Note- Tea Parties and Ghost Hunts run year-round even though the unheated museum is closed. (Ghost Walks are offered only in the warm months-please see more information on Ghost Hunts page under Programs tab above.) Tea parties and Ghost Hunts are by reservation only to avoid overcrowding-arranged and paid in advance. Only confirmed events are listed on the calendar below however, most other dates are possible.
