Ghost City of Valentown Ghost Walks
Join Valentown's Ghost Guides after dark for Haunting Tales of Valentown told as you creep through the 4 floors of Haunted Valentown Museum, The ichabod Towne Homestead, whispering grounds and dark trail through the woods surrounding Valentown Square. Listen to accounts of strange happenings and paranormal experiences of ghost hunters and visitors alike on the very spots you are standing!
Ghost Walks start at dusk and last approximately 1 1/2 hours depending on the weather. Dress accordingly and bring a flashlight if you are afraid of the dark. Children with a long enough attention span are welcome. Suggested ages 8 and older. Ghost Walks will be open to the public most Saturday evenings beginning May 1st. Watch the calendar on this website for dates and starting times as the days get longer.
Ghost Walkers may receive a discount after their Ghost Walk if they wish to book a Valentown Ghost Hunt for a later date. A percentage of the proceeds go to the support Valentown. Click on Ghost Walks link above for more information .
Heritage Craft Demonstrations May-early Sept. - Memorial Day through Labor Day - Heritage Craft Demonstrations each Saturday during the summer. These will be on topics like weaving, blacksmithing, shoe making, barrel making, and woodworking. etc. Demonstrations will last about an hour and in most cases there will be a chance for audience members to participate in the craft in some way. These demonstrations will show visitors how the craft was done in the 19th century and act as a general introduction to the modern craft. There will be time afterwards to ask lots of questions. These demonstrations are ideal activities for families. There's no age limit for attendance. Note: Valentown Youth Group Meetings are held throughout the year at Valentown Museum-For children ages 11-17 yrs. interested in history and preserving the past, community involvement and fun social activities.
Programs will include museum tours, guest speakers, field trips to local historic sites, hands-on projects, research projects and fundraising events to benefit Historic Valentown Museum.
