Heritage Craft Demonstrations May-October. - Heritage Craft Demonstrations each Saturday during the summer. These will be on topics like weaving, blacksmithing, shoe making, barrel making, and woodworking. etc. Demonstrations will last about an hour and in most cases there will be a chance for audience members to participate in the craft in some way. These demonstrations will show visitors how the craft was done in the 19th century and act as a general introduction to the modern craft. There will be time afterwards to ask lots of questions. These demonstrations are ideal activities for families. There's no age limit for attendance. Note: Valentown Youth Group Meetings are held throughout the year at Valentown Museum-For children ages 11-17 yrs. interested in history and preserving the past, community involvement and fun social activities.
Programs will include museum tours, guest speakers, field trips to local historic sites, hands-on projects, research projects and fundraising events to benefit Historic Valentown Museum.
