PRIVACY POLICY – June 7, 2011
The Victor Historical Society (the
“Corporation”) is firmly committed to preserving the privacy of its members,
website visitors and financial donors.
The Corporation’s privacy policy concerning the gathering and use of
data is being provided to enable others to make knowledgeable choices about
whether to provide information to us.
The Corporation does not sell or
trade members’, website visitors’ or donors’ personal information (defined as
e-mail address, name, telephone number, or home address) to outside
third-parties. We will not disclose
personal information unless: (i) we change website
hosts; (ii) we first obtain permission from the donor (for instance, to receive
appropriate acknowledgement and recognition); (iii) we need to share it with
agents or contractors who perform services for us; or (iv) we
are required by law to disclose it. We
may send members, website visitors and donors information in the future about
the Corporation and its activities by e-mail or by post. Website visitors can opt-out of receiving
communications from us by following the opt-out instructions in our e-mails.
The Corporation may track
information on which site pages are being visited and used so we can make
decisions about the design and usage of our site.
The Corporation takes seriously
the safety and security of the information provided by those using credit cards
for transactions through its website. The Corporation works with DigiCert in order to process on-line transactions. DigiCert uses high grade
encryption and security protocols.

Whenever the Corporation handles
personal information, it takes steps to ensure that such information is treated
securely and in accordance with its privacy policy. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the
Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
As a result, while we use our best efforts to respect and protect
others’ personal information, the Corporation cannot ensure or warrant the
security of any information transmitted to us online and Internet users do so
at their own risk.

to revise this privacy policy. Members
will be requested to please review it periodically. The privacy policy will detail when it was
last updated, by for instance, the following statement: “This policy was last
